MISSION STATEMENT

"Preparing our children for their future.

Children preparing themselves for their future."

Rawhitiroa School, situated on the outskirts of Eltham in Taranaki, caters for students from Years 1 to 8. They enjoy education in a safe, aesthetically pleasing, inclusive learning and play spaces. Students experience an environment conducive to successful learning and develop with teachers respectful, responsive and reciprocal relationships.

We strive for our children to be strong in Literacy and Numeracy, to expand their knowledge and skills across the curriculum, celebrate their successes and others, and to be positive active members of their community.

Strong relationships and partnerships connect home, school and the community. Families have many opportunities to engage in and support school activities and direction. Students in the past have been highly involved in the maintenance and beautification of nearby Lake Rotokare, a community-led project to create a pest-free sanctuary for bird life. Children learned in an atmosphere of mutual respect where being a member of the school's community and making a contribution is valued.

Report Meeting
17 Jun 2026

Mōrena

As you will be aware our interim report comes out at the end of term 2 each year. This year there are several changes to our report as we move forward with the common components that we have been asked to include. The new Maths and English curriculums that were gazetted late last year have also changed the expectations for each year group. They have also tried to articulate more clearly what it is that students need to know as they reach each progression point. These changes may however see a change in where your child sits against their curriculum expectations. Our midyear reports this year will be coming out at the end of week 1 Term3, this change has been made to allow as much data to be available to teachers so you will receive a clear picture of your children’s progress at this time.

To help everyone understand the changes there will be two parent meetings before the end of term to explore what our new report will look like and how judgements of progress are made. These will be held next Wednesday 24th June 2.45-3.30pm and 6.00-6.45pm

Please click HERE to fill in the form to show your preferred time and whether you would like your children supervised here at school while the meeting is on.

Thank you to the families that have already replied.

Have a great day.
