MISSION STATEMENT

Rawhitiroa School, situated on the outskirts of Eltham in Taranaki, caters for students from Years 1 to 8. They enjoy education in a safe, aesthetically pleasing, inclusive learning and play spaces. Students experience an environment conducive to successful learning and develop with teachers respectful, responsive and reciprocal relationships.

We strive for our children to be strong in Literacy and Numeracy, to expand their knowledge and skills across the curriculum, celebrate their successes and others, and to be positive active members of their community.

Strong relationships and partnerships connect home, school and the community. Families have many opportunities to engage in and support school activities and direction. Students in the past have been highly involved in the maintenance and beautification of nearby Lake Rotokare, a community-led project to create a pest-free sanctuary for bird life. Children learned in an atmosphere of mutual respect where being a member of the school's community and making a contribution is valued.

Central Football are holding a Futsal Day in Stratford on Tuesday 25th March for Year 3 - 8 students. Please click HERE for more information and permission form.

Below is a message from Jan - a full newsletter will come out on Friday:

What a great event on Thursday, a big thank you to all the parents who came to watch and help, your support is really appreciated. Well done to all the students, you all tried your hardest and showed great support of each other and sportsmanship. Our school leaders and sports captains fulfilled their role in presenting the medals, a first for our school to have students in this role, and they did very well.

With the end of the swimming season at school we will start Friday afternoon options this week and Kapa Haka and Choir will also commence. This term will be an opportunity for all students to have a go at both Kapa Haka and Choir. Those that continue in Term 2 will need to commit for the remainder of the year as the groups start to prepare for their respective performances.

Next week information about parent teacher conferences will come out, these will take place in Week 8.
